Authentic letterhead
from a major historical festival that is now over 50 years old is extremely hard to find.  Atlanta Pop Festivals, Inc. was the corporate body that owned and hosted the event.  Generally, this stationary was used for marketing and communication sent to the likes of radio or tv networks for this festival, so they were not produced in very high numbers.  This set came from storage of one of the organizers that had kept some items.
It shows some light handling wear, paper clip marks and a rip, crease & rip on the envelope.   Overall still in very presentable condition.
1969 ATLANTA POP
This event was 6 weeks before Woodstock.  It turned out 1969 would be the peak year for pop festivals, and the success of this one led the promoter Alex Cooley to hold the 1970 Atlanta Pop festival the following year.  That event would be even more successful and closely resemble Woodstock with numerous top acts over 3 days and reached an attendance around 400,000.
By 1970 things died down, and there would only be a couple of major rock festivals that whole year with Atlanta being the most popular by far.   Atlanta had achieved something none one else had, not even in California, an even more successful reincarnation.
This is one reason why the Atlanta Pop Festival has become one of the most coveted rock concert festival events and probably stands only 2nd to Woodstock in popularity.  Atlanta had the similar cool peaceful vibes and colorful counter culture crowd from that special era.  All the news articles about the Atlanta event were very favorable.  The young hip audience was very orderly and there to have a good time.  They even showed a very laid back attitude as they braved the harsh heat and sun conditions with limited facilities over that weekend.
It also turned out to be the largest audience that Led Zeppelin would ever play in front of, until only possibly at Knebworth which wasn't until a full decade later.
