EP PICTURE SLEEVE ONLY GENESIS BOOK “SONGS BY GEORGE HARRISON, VOL. 1” - BEATLES

OFFERED FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION:
A George Harrison picture sleeve originally issued by Genesis Publications in February 1988 as part of their long sold-out signed, limited-edition book, “Songs By George Harrison, Volume 1”. There is no vinyl included with this lot – only the picture sleeve used to house the vinyl extended-play (EP) record that was issued with the book. When the book was originally offered 34 years ago in a limited edition of 2,500 copies, the buyer had the option of choosing an EP CD or a vinyl EP record. This was issued for the vinyl record. The tracks listed on the back of the sleeve (which were obviously on the record) were:
“Sat Singing” (Recorded March 1980)
“Lay His Head” (Recorded April 1980)
“For You Blue” (Recorded live in Washington DC, December 1974)
“Flying Hour” (Recorded March 1978).
This is a very scarce picture sleeve with a two-tone black (with spot varnish) illustration of a guitar headstock on the front, and a beautiful photo of George Harrison (circa 1987) on the back.
At the bottom of the back side, it states “A Limited Edition of 2,500 Copies”. Understand that this is the edition for the signed Harrison book and NOT for the sleeve. As stated, customers had a choice of a vinyl EP in a sleeve, or a CD EP. I don’t know exactly how many of these sleeves were printed, but the number is considerably less than 2,500.
The sleeve is made from light poster board stock, so it’s thicker than paper sleeves and similar in construction to those used on UK 45s and EPs. It’s in outstanding condition with no conspicuous flaws like bending, creasing, tearing or staining. It measures approximately 7-1/4 inches square.
You never see these Harrison Genesis picture sleeves sold separately like this, so don’t miss the rare opportunity to add this one to your Beatles/Harrison collection.
