SOMEWHERE IN ENGLAND
Firstly, I bought this from the VERY reputable Rockaway Records Store in Los Angeles in the early 1980's, via their mail-order catalog sales. This was longgggg before the internet folks. When I got the catalog in my mailbox and saw this crazy rarity I quickly called them to reserve this. I don't recall if they had more than one available. Alas, I wish I had kept that original Rockaway catalog.
This is the original artwork for the inner-sleeve for Harrison's original version of Somewhere in England, long-play record. Harrison fans will know how long it took George to get this album released. I'll quickly say that the record company didn't like what Harrison had delivered here, in 1980. It was scheduled to be released on October 29, 1980. Days later, in December of 1980 we tragically lost John Lennon. George dropped four of the songs and added others to replace them, including his tribute to Lennon "All Those Years Ago". The completely different "Somewhere in England" finally got released in 1981.
So what we have here is this beautiful full-size promo inner-sleeve containing the original ten-song track list, full lyrics, credits and and a gorgeous shot of George.

This inner-sleeve measures approximately 12 3/8th inch by 23 1/2 inch. This is ONE single sheet. I've kept it in the original shipping tube all these decades. One end of the tube lost its protective cap (I didn't notice this for well beyond a decade) and over time this super valuable piece has yellowed and browned a little. Still rolled in that original tube. There are some small bends along the edges and in the face of the sleeve here and there. There is a major bend in the center where the two 'sides' of the artwork meet. NOT a true fold, but certainly a noticeable bend. There's also one small stain on the back.
There is no writing or tears, only the small bends and the yellowing and browning of the thin inner-sleeve paper.
This wonderful piece weathered much more than I ever expected. Nonetheless it IS beyond rare. Please see the photos for a closer examination. The photos are heavily tagged because this is insanely rare.
