Description

This is the original poster I got from Led Zeppelin’s last US show in Oakland CA, 1977.
A Vintage Bill Graham Presents Poster 1977 Oakland Last US concert in great condition measures as 19 3/4” x 28 1/4" **
** this poster was evidently bootlegged and one of the telling factors is its 28 1/2” long (not 28 1/4” as original),
Also the diagonal lines running to venue info has a lot of green in original, the entire background isn’t a true black (it’s a grayish-blue in original), as also the mountain on the end of diagonal lines is purple on original (black in bootleg). **
Show dates July 23-24 1977 - these are last shows Led Zeppelin ever played in US.
I’ve had this poster the entire time - in dark storage for the past 40 years. It was lightly rolled for a while, and has been flat in plexiglass frame for a while now.
(It’s been photographed here through plex)
At some point years ago while loosely rolled, it got pushed (slightly crushed) against other posters, leaving light “ripples” or “creases” horizontally (4 main evenly spaced which are visible).
This is a tough background to see flaws through - as the “stars” & “planets” can look like different shaped flaws. It’s a complex design as a whole.
Over time particles of ink has fallen off those creased & dinged edges, looking like almost a faint reverse spider web. (not heavy lines, like light veins)
This is most visible with magnification - I show this in pictures.
These are not folds - this was not ever “folded”, just bounced a bit around by a teenager 40 years ago with other posters.
There are tack holes in all four corners (of course).
You can see by the picture of back side the way the different ripples / creases and dings are random (much clearer than front). And shows there are no true (complete) folds.
As you can see - it can look jet black with few flaws, depending on the lighting. Or you can see some flaws with harder / directional light.
I truly believe it is in excellent condition for its age, (thankfully) not hung in sunlight. Also it wasn’t famed for a long time it’s help up we’ll probably helped by heavy paper.
It looks great framed - I’m selling as I just don’t have the space to display all my art.
To me the cracks/lines show up much less framed (hard to see from most distances) - and when not highlighted (as they are here purposely)
The design of the poster also is such that some of the flaws look like art, and some of the art looks like flaws.
Also looks real be an easy restoration to “mint” if someone preferred going that direction - restoring like new for display purposes.
I’m trying to show honest accurate pictures of this poster, as people want to see the flaws.
Poster does not come with a picture/ poster frame.
I will lightly roll it and package in special high quality tube with insurance on shipping.
Please ask any questions before bidding - I’m happy to answer anything honestly or take more pictures.
I’d like for it to get a good home.
Good luck and thank you.
