Description
Pendant bearing the image of a Wolf, most likely a Timber Wolf based upon the Caribou or Reindeer antlers at the animals feet. Made to appear similar to a hand-inked "scrimshaw" style carving, this is actually printed or lightly impressed into the surface. 33mm, brass body with an early composite such as Bakelite or a similar synthetic plastic forming the body upon which the image was produced. Pre-owned of course but apparently not worn, listed as "used" to keep everyone happy. I am also offering a second similar piece with an image of a dog (Basset Hound), so obviously these came from a series showing multiple animals. These came out of a lot that was heavily European, however my guess is that these may be Canadian, or English-made for that market, likely very late 19th Century or early 20th Century. No manufacture's marks to go by. PLEASE NOTE:This IS NOT, repeat is not
