DIGITAL RADIO RELAY SYSTEM
There are several different ODU models in stock (different frequency  of the 8 GHz band, Low and High models) and IDU, see photos and ask any questions.
Functions of the cable digital interface of the MODEM/INC unit:
- Cable interface
Extraction and insertion of uplink and downlink baseband data, and DC power extraction. Frequency multiplexing is carried out by a triplexer unit which enables separation of DC power from the uplink data (in HDB3 coded baseband), and to transmit to the IDU the receive data amplitude modulated on a 250 MHz carrier.
- Frame Relay:
Insertion/extraction of data ensuring dialog between the IDU microprocessor and ODU microcontroller
- Microcontroller:
ODU configuration, Alarm management and IDU communication.
Functions of the modem part of the MODEM/INC unit:
- Modulator:
* Scrambling, encoding of Reed Solomon FEC code (204,188,8), digital filtering of I
and Q channels,
* Generation of 2048 MHz* carrier,
* QPSK Modulation of 2048 MHz* carrier.
- Demodulator :
* Down conversion of 70 MHz receive signal to zero frequency, then digital
conversion of I and Q signals,
* Carrier and clock digital recovery,
* Reed Solomon decoding, descrambling,
* Generation of quality criteria,
* Transmission of receive data to INC card.
