The Beatles I Apologize Chicago Tribune John Lennon Sterling LP Record 8x10 MINT

This is a vintage hard to find 1966 lp record with original black & white 8x10 bonus photo featuring John Lennon and The Beatles titled "I Apologize". The lp is on the Sterling Productions Record Label #8895-6481. This lp is a Beatles press conference at the Astor Tower and was distributed by The Chicago Tribune newspaper. You had to send away for this from the Tribune. The content is John Lennon's explanation and apology concerning his controversial statement about Jesus Christ with remarks by the other 3 Beatles. Back in the early 1980's we were at a record show in Chicago when the original distributor came in the show to sell the remaining warehouse stock of these lp's. At the time there wasn't a listing or any information on this album in any price guide. I (Colleen) owned a copy that I obtained while singing in Chicago in the 70's. We ended up buying a few hundred copies (all that he had left) at the time from the distributor and he also told us that they only pressed 1,000 of these. We sold those at conventions and in Goldmine Magazine in the 80's & 90's. Some where without photos, some where with photos and a few were still in the original mailers. This copy is one of those remaining in our collection. This is all original unplayed and the record is in mint unused condition. The guarenteed original photo is in excellent conditon with no creases but has a very light record indentation. The album cover has a 1" thin line of yellowing along the top left edge of the cover. It's hardly noticeable. There is no yellowing elsewhere. There are no splits, tears, stickers or writing! We used to do Beatlefest shows in New York and Chicago in the 70's & 80's. So, all the major dealers were aware of our find. Rick Rann was the first to include this rare record in his price guide book. Before that happened this lp was hard to sell. No one had heard of it, except for a few who had sent for one. Be assured you will not be disappointed with this ultra scarce record and photo! You will not have to upgrade with this one!
